Chinese Miao-Style Silver Tone Metal Hat With Medallion and Charm Embellishments

An artisan-made silver tone metal hat, similar in style to those made by the Miao people of the Guizhou Valley in South China. The piece features a rounded design, with floral medallions applied to the band, as well as embossed fish-motif imagery and and other embellishments attached to the crown. The work features metal horn-like pieces extending outward from the top embellished with hanging metal charms. No signature or maker’s mark was found.

Condition

- wear, tarnish, discoloration and accretion to surface; nicks, dents, small holes and markings to metal; some pieces are slightly bent; some applied charms are broken or missing.
