Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This wool rug features an allover herati pattern incorporating stylized palmettes, flowers, leaves and geometric vinework over a midnight blue field. The palette is midnight blue, brick red, peach, sapphire and cream. Framing the field are three borders, including two Hamadan-meander minor borders and a carnation-meander central border. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
