An artist’s proof etching on paper utilizing a la poupée coloring titled The Great Canadian Landscape created in 1973 by Speyer. The Expressionist-inspired landscape depicts a purple striated ground with scattered vegetation set against distant pink hills under a yellow sky. The work is signed and dated by hand to the lower right, titled to the lower center and inscribed as an artist’s proof to the lower left. It is matted in grey and presented under acrylic glazing in a gilt wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- to fair; toning, discoloration and mat burn present to print and matting; edge wear, nicks and scratching to frame; tears to frame’s backing paper.
