Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Long Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan long rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of red, black, cream, ochre and teal. It features a layered, geometric design incorporating overlapping lozenges in red and black over a red field. Filling the field and lozenges are tree forms with trefoil blossoms and flower stalks. Borders feature repeating florets over black and serpent motifs over cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. Unlabeled.
