Hand-Knotted Caucasian Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, coral, sky blue, ivory, and cranberry. The field features an indigo colored lozenge infilled with a pole of five stepped diamond medallions, along with animal, floral, and cruciform motifs. Those same motifs flow into the remainder of the coral colored field. Framing the field is a main florette patterned border, along with a pair of barber pole guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
