A gouache painting on paper by listed Italian artist Giovanni Battista (1860-1925), attributed as bearing the title Pescadores Porto. This piece depicts a line of fishing boats on the waters of a coastal city, the buildings stretching inland into shades of hazy blue and purple. The painting is signed ‘G. Battista’ to its lower left and is double-matted under protective acrylic glazing in a black frame with a hanging wire to its verso.

Condition

- bottom portion of ground bubbled; warping throughout ground; toning on margins of ground; toning and foxing on mat board; debris and wear throughout frame; gap in frame at top right corner.
