An 1890 The Soldier in Our Civil War: A Pictorial History of the Conflict, 1861-1865 published by Stanley Bradley Publishing Company in New York, and originally sold only by subscriptions. It is burgundy cloth on board bound with gilt stamp designs and lettering. They feature 12″ × 16.5″ pages with a myriad of illustrations by Forbes, Waud, Taylor, Hillen, Becker, Lovie, Schell, Crane, and other drawings by eye-witness accounts. The volumes are edited by Paul F. Mottelay and T. Campbell-Copland with assistance by the “most notable generals and commanders of both sides”.
