A circa 1911 photographic print after C.E. Waterman depicting an early 20th-century United States naval ship. The piece depicts the U.S.S. Colorado armored cruiser (later dubbed the U.S.S. Pueblo) sailing in still waters. The image includes inscriptions in plate of ‘Copyrighted 1911 by C.E. Waterman’ and ‘U.S.S. Colorado’, both printed to the lower margin. The photograph is mounted to a black cardboard backing; it comes with a circa 1910s postmarked mailing envelope.
Condition
- discoloration, toning and foxing to image; wear to edges and corners of board; extensive damage, discoloration, tears and staining to mailing envelope.
