Antique Handwoven Wool and Cotton Coverlets
Item Details
A selection of antique 19th century handwoven coverlets. The bed covers were constructed using indigo and soft red-orange wool yarn spun by hand and woven on a cotton warp. The intricate Jacquard patterns were woven in panels and then sewn together to create the bed covers. No maker’s marks appear to be present.
Condition
-One piece is slightly separating at center seam; other nearly completely separated at center seam and shows some other tearing.
