19th-Century Country French Morbier Case Clock

Item Details

A mid to late 19th-century country French morbier tall case clock. The case is painted pine with floral emblems and painted inlay designs. The brass works have a weight driven pendulum and eight day movement with a wind key. The face appears with a repoussé brass panel depicting the Biblical scene, ‘Samaritan woman at the well.’ The porcelain dial features hand painted Roman numerals and is signed, ‘Doublet Morin à Chaudron.’

- untested for working condition; gilt loss to the brass face; cracked and repair present to the middle right of the dial; scratches and marks appears throughout the case.
