Antique Primitive Wooden Trencher, 19th Century

Item Details

An antique primitive wooden trencher, 19th century. The carved, oblong frame features raised sides surrounding a concave interior. The interior retains remnants of an old, if not original, dark finish with a make-do repair at one end.

Condition

- short ends with losses to edges, one of which has two resulting cracks; one of the cracks reinforced with an old make-do repair; back of one short end with a couple small holes, probably from previous hanging hardware; scattered surface wear from age and use.
