A Christmas-themed oil painting on canvas of American circus performer Emmett Leo Kelly’s clown character ‘Weary Willie’ by artist Donald L. ‘Rusty’ Rust (b. 1932). This painting depicts the character on the back of Santa’s sleigh, the words ‘Christmas – 1993’ noted underneath it. The piece is signed ‘Rust’ toward its lower right and is presented unframed. The oil is the original design for a ‘seasons’ designs on a collector’s plate series.

Condition

- craquelure is pervasive throughout the image area; dirt throughout the image area.
- NOTE: canvas has been removed from its stretcher frame
