A 19th-century restrike of a 1755 etching by French artist Antoine de Marcenay de Ghuy (1724-1811) titled A Monsieur de Lalive Introducteur des Ambassadeurs. This engraving was created after the painting by Parocel the Elder. The engraver’s name is printed to the lower right and the painter’s name is printed to the lower left. The composition is presented under glass with tan matting and housed in a gilt and gesso wood frame.

- to fair; faint stain present to upper central area of image; foxing and toning throughout composition; wear to frame includes stains, small chips, finish loss, and dirt scattered throughout.
