Late 19th Century J. & G. Meakin "Rosalie" Flow Blue Sugar Bowl

Item Details

An antique sugar bowl by J. & G. Meakin in the Rosalie pattern. This earthenware vessel is molded with a scalloped rim, a pair of kicked handles, and thistle shaped body with footed base. It is accented with flow blue floral sprigs and greek key trim on a white glaze. The piece bears a blue underglaze crown mark to the base, dated c. 1890s.

Condition

- repaired chip with discoloration and several hairline cracks to lower body; crack to interior; wear to base; minor chip and hairline crack to one handle; small chip to rim; minor marks and faint scratches; various glazing imperfections.
