Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Malayer wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of terracotta, ivory, powder blue, sepia, salmon, sand, and goldenrod. The terracotta hued field begins with a diamond medallion infilled with flower filled vases, and palmettes, along with coordinating spandrels, and it features an all-over herati pattern. Framing the field is an unresolved main border of palmettes and flowering branches, along with a pair of bracket and florette chained guard borders, and a minor sawtooth border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
