Hand Knotted Persian Zanjan Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Zanjan area rug. The wool pile rug features a large geometric patterned medallion with razor edges to the center of a ruch crimson colored field. The design elements are worked in onyx, ivory, honey, hues of blue, and gold. It has corner spandrels infilled with pinwheel chains. Framing the rug are carnation meander guard borders and stylized herati in the field colors. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with natural cotton warp fringe at either end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
