Hand-Knotted Persian Malayer Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Malayer carpet runner. This wool rug offers three serrated medallions to the center indigo field. The remaining field is densely populated with stylized herati patterns in rose, azure, navy, tawny, ivory, tangerine, maroon and caramel. Serrated spandrels are grounded in tawny including retilinear and palmette devices. Framing the rug are boteh repeats which flank a main seraband border over an ivory ground. Selvedges are overcast, finishing with ivory cotton warp fringe at either end. It is labeled with a tag the verso indicating country of origin.
