Hand-Knotted Persian Heriz Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Heriz area rug. This wool rug has been worked in abrash tones of watermelon, indigo, salmon, fern, navy, camel, mocha and ivory. It features a large floral medallion to the center field with geometric floral pendants at each end which include palmettes and comb devices. The rug is framed with an unusual compartment border including star motifs, stylized boteh and vase forms. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with ivory cotton warp fringe at either end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
