A hand-knotted Persian Heriz area rug. This wool rug offers a large medallion to the center field worked in onyx, ivory, azure and rich crimson. The remaining field features large shah abbasi with geometric floral and leaf patterns joined by complimentary serrated spandrels grounded in ivory. Framing the rug are floral meanders and a stylized herati border over onyx. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with a kilim skirt and knotted ivroy cotton fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
