Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool long rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of terracotta, ivory, slate, apricot, teal, rose, indigo, and sepia. The terracotta hued field begins with a pole of three large crenelated diamond medallions ending in pendants, and each infilled with a number of floral motifs. Enclosing the pole are coordinating partial medallions, and spandrels to the edges forming an infinity pattern. The field also features rows of spotted doves that surround the medallions. Framing the field is a main flowering chain border, and a carnation meander guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
