Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, violet, ivory, wheat, powder blue, fern, walnut, teal, aqua, and coral. The cranberry colored field begins with a large lobed pendant medallion with a floral theme, along with ivory grounded spandrels each with a large palmette, and floral sprays. The field also features the same theme throughout with ornately designed floral sprays, flowering branches, palmettes, and vine-work. Framing the field is a stylized herati main border with added flowers, along with a pair of floral meander guard borders, and sawtooth minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as a label to the underside.
