Item Details
A tufted Indian Kirman wool area rug by Couristan. This rug is from The Varuna Collection, and it is rendered in a palette of teal, carnation, sage, olive, ivory, rose, pale yellow, powder blue, and wine. The teal colored lozenge begins with a large boldly designed medallion ending in palmette pendants, and grounded with carnation colored spandrels. The spandrels and medallion feature floral and foliate motifs, while framed in a main samovar border, along with a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug is a cotton binding and backing, and a cotton knotted fringe to the ends. It is labeled to the underside.
