Pair of Antique English Pearlware Obelisks Circa 1785-90
Item Details
A pair of antique English pearlware obelisks. Each piece boasts a marbled glaze reminiscent of variegated stone, rendered in pale blue, rust, terracotta, and white. They rest on a square plinth whose design emulates Wedgwood jasperware. These are decorated with applied neoclassical medallions and acanthus leaf trim on a blue ground. The pieces bear no discernible maker’s marks, consistent with items dated circa 1785-90.
