Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Kashan area rug . This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of muted red, espresso, cerulean blue, cream, ocher, moss green, and black. It has a scalloped diamond shaped medallion on a field densely patterned with lancet leaves, curvilinear vines, and palmettes. It is framed with carnation meander, sawtooth, and herati pattern borders. Finished with overcast selvedges and short fringe to either end. Marked to verso.
