Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Heriz Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool area rug. The rug has been woven in shades of indigo, emerald, ivory, persimmon, dove gray, olive, umber, and plum. A large lobed diamond medallion is infilled with rectilinear leaf and lobed flower motifs which are repeated within the persimmon color field. The spandrels also include geometric stylized floral and foliate elements. The samovar herati primary border is flanked by floral bands, The selvedges are overcast and there is short fringe at each end. A temporary tag has been affixed to the underside.
