A delicately painted seascape showing mellow surf lapping at white dunes and tall coastal grasses while a flock of Canadian geese soars in formation overhead. Signed lower right ‘’T. Sander’’ for Tom Sander (American, b. 1938), a listed artist, and painted circa 1965. After graduating from the University of Oregon, Sander moved to Montana where he is now a well-known regional painter. A member of the Society of Animal Artists as well as the Northwest Rendezvous Group, Sander’s work hangs in the permanent collections of the C. M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana, the American Wildlife Foundation, and the Cincinnati Museum of Natural Science.
