Study of Oranges by Barbara von Haunalter, 1990's
Item Details
A substantial and light-filled nature study showing oranges ripening on a leafy bough against a white background. The selective use of shading and the absence of visible surroundings lend a sense of the unreal to this otherwise representationally precise work. After studying Plant Science at Vassar College, Haunalter learned printmaking methods at the Philadelphia Museum School of Art. A member of the Santa Clara Valley Watercolor Society and Peninsula Outdoor Painters, her work has been exhibited at the Portola Art Gallery in Menlo Park as well as the Viewpoints Gallery in Los Altos.
