Scherenschnitte Cut Paper Art of Landscape Scene with Deer
Item Details
Paper
A late 20th-century scherenschnitte cut-paper composition. The folk art-style piece uses delicately cut black paper to create a silhouetted rural landscape scene with a wooden bridge, tall shade trees, a pair of deer and distant cottages. The work is signed in ink to the lower right of the off-white paper ground, appearing to read ‘Paris Braun’; however, no clear artist attribution could be made. It is presented under glass and layered matting in a black wooden frame fitted with hanging wire, and marked a sticker to the verso from Printworks Fine Art Gallery of Dallas, Texas.
