Vintage Philippines Fixed Blade Theater Made Style Fighting Knife
Item Details
A vintage Phillipine fixed blade theater made style fighting knife. During World War II, GIs overseas would craft or rework their own fighting knives from salvaged parts or custom pieces of acrylic, glass, metal, or wood; while their handcrafted nature and lack of maker’s marks mean the knives are impossible to date or verify, ‘theater-made’ knives have emerged as a distinctive form of collectible knife. This wide, clip point knife has the word ‘Philippines’ carved into the blade, likely by the creator. The handle is of carved dark horn, with a bolt button and a brass guard with geometric etchings to the center.
