Vintage Occupied Japan Hand-Painted Porcelain Cruet Set

A vintage six-piece porcelain cruet set made in occupied Japan. This set is comprised of a caddy with five condiment containers for salt and pepper, mustard, olive oil, and vinegar. Each piece features a hand-painted pink rose pattern with leaves and gilt details. The undersides are stamped with a Japanese elephant mark attributed to Tashiro Shoten Ltd. of Nagoya, along with ‘Handpainted, Made in Occupied Japan’. Marks reading ‘Occupied Japan’ were used between 1947 and 1952.
