A 19th-century folk style oil portrait on wood panel of a gentleman. This half-body portrait features a three-quarter view of a middle-aged gentleman in mid 19th-century attire with a serious expression on his face. No signature was found on the painting. It is presented in a beveled gold-tone gesso and wood frame.

Condition

- substantial in painting throughout entire composition; surface dirt and dust scattered throughout painting; small spots of accretion and paint loss scattered throughout painting; wear in frame includes chips, stains, and finish loss scattered throughout; panel is loose in frame and needs securing.
