Franklin Mint ‘History of the American West’ two volume set of silver proof medals. Issued by the Franklin Mint from 1974 to 1978, lot includes two albums, each containing twenty medallic cachets which depict various moments in the history of the old American West. Each cachet is postmarked at the Post Office serving the site commemorated. Each commemorative medal is composed of sterling silver (92.5%) and plated with 24K gold. Each medal measures 39 mm in diameter. Each album measures 10 1/2′ × 9′ × 3′. Entire set is in good condition.
