Reproduction Brass Figure After Auguste Moreau "Whistling Boy"

A mid to late 20th-century reproduction sculpture in cast brass titled Whistling Boy, after a Belle Époque-era work by well-listed sculptor Auguste Moreau (French, 1834 – 1917). The piece depicts a boy in late 19th-century attire standing with his hands in his pockets as he whistles a tune. The work features green patinated embellishments to the figure’s trousers. The sculpture is marked “Aug Moreau” in mold behind the figure’s feet. It rests on a rounded metal base which is attached to a round green marble base with beveled edge. A metal plate with the artist’s name and work title is affixed to the front of the marble base.
Item tested as 90% copper and 6.22% zinc.

- to fair; scratches, marks and small chips to surface; areas of discoloration present; marks and scratches to base; white buildup and accretion to metal base; light accretion and dust present throughout.
