A 19th-century oil painting on canvas of a rural landscape. This tranquil landscape features a small cottage situated in the left foreground among trees and grassy terrains that extend into the distance; a couple mountain peaks are silhouetted against a cloudy blue sky in the distant background. The painting is illegibly signed to the lower right. It is presented in a gilt and gesso frame with large foliate motifs in the corners.

Condition

- spots of in painting throughout right central area of canvas; craquelure throughout painting; horizontal stretch marks near upper and lower edge of painting; some paint loss and rubbing along edges of painting; wear in frame includes cracks, stains, and finish loss scattered throughout.
