A pencil and ballpoint pen drawing on paper by contemporary artist Li Fu. This portrait depicts a figure facing the viewer, holding an apple. It is rendered in shades of grey with red spot color. The work is signed ‘Fu Li’ by hand to the lower right and dated 2014. It is presented unframed.
Born in 1968, Li Fu is the daughter of acclaimed photographer Chunfang Fu (pen name: Dong Fu) and spent 30 years herself as the personal photographer to artist Wu Guanzhong. Her career has also seen her serve 5 years as an art instructor and as an art writer for multiple Chinese publications, including the Huron Report magazine. Fu is known both for her oils and acrylics, as well as her ballpoint pen and pencil drawings.
