Antique Black and White Cabinet Photo Portrait of Alaskan Missionary
Item Details
An antique cabinet photo, in black and white, depicting a missionary for Alaska. Circa 1890-1910. He is standing in front of a staged backdrop in all Eskimo clothing. The portrait is attached to a cardboard matting stamped, ‘Melander 208 E. Ohio St Chicago’. To the verso is worn handwriting which appears to read, ‘Stephan Ivanoff Unalakllik (sic) Alaska Indian Mission’.
