A hand colored engraving print after artist Thomas Allom (1804 – 1872) and engraver Henry Adlard (1799-1893) titled Attack and Capture of Chuenpee. This print depicts an elaborate and intricately detailed war scene between the British and Chinese armies during the 19th century First Opium War. This piece is signed in-plate to the lower corner margins and is titled to the lower center. This work is presented in a metal frame, under glass, without hanging hardware.
Condition
- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; scratches to frame; toning toward edges of paper; minor blemishes to frame.
