The Impressionist-inspired piece depicts a Scandinavian coastal landscape of rolling hills, groves of trees and a small cottage set against distant calm waters and hazy blue skies. The work is signed in paint to the lower left, appearing to read ‘J. Jessen’. It is presented without glass in a wooden frame with gold tone finish, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
