An oil painting on canvas created in 1947 by listed Scandinavian artist Johan Meyer Andersen (Danish, 1918 – 2005). The Impressionist-style piece depicts a man driving a horse-drawn cart down a sunlit country lane, passing green fields and trees with falling leaves in changing autumn colors. The work is dated and signed ‘John. Meyer A.’ in blue paint to the lower right. It is presented without glass in a wooden frame with gold tone finish, fitted with hanging string to the verso.

Condition

- to fair; minor discoloration to image; scattered craquelure and wear to composition; small areas of inpainting throughout; scuffs, chips and wear to frame with cracks to moulding; no backing paper present.
