An early 20th-century oil painting on canvas by an anonymous artist. The piece depicts the portrait of a produce vendor seated at his stall at an outdoor market, wearing Northern African attire that includes red and white robes and a red fez with black tassel. The work is unsigned. It is presented without glass in a wooden frame with black and gold tone moulded embellishments, fitted with hanging string to the verso.

- to fair; areas of toning, discoloration and craquelure scattered throughout; stretcher marks to edges of canvas; loose weave to canvas; scuffing, nicks and edge wear to frame; dust to canvas and frame; no backing paper present.
