An oil painting on canvas of a shore scene by Danish artist Aage Jessen (1876-1961). This Impressionist style painting depicts a boat docked on a sandy shore while another glides in the distance across a reflective body of water. A wooden picketed fence and shrubbery obscures a lodge with a thatched roof seen to the left margin. To the lower left corner is a painted artist signature ‘Aage Jessen’. The painting is presented in a gold tone wooden frame with hanging string to the verso.

Condition

- notable wear and loss of gesso to frame; could use more thorough cleaning.
