An oil painting on canvas. This piece depicts a clown carrying an instrument case, looking down and holding one hand out in a wave. The figure has exaggerated proportions and is rendered with softly blended paints. It is initialed ‘FJ’ and dated 1959 to the lower right, and has an illegible inscription to the verso on a stretcher bar. The piece is presented in a gold tone wood frame with string to the verso for hanging.

- some discoloration to piece; minor scuffs to frame.
