A globe with stone inlay on a brass stand. This globe features the countries of the world arrayed against a blue sea. The countries have been inlaid using abalone, sandstone, marble, dyed magnesite, and agate. The names of the countries are written in red and the seas in white; the latitude and longitude are indicated in gold tone metal inlay. The globe is secured on a metal rod at the poles, and can tilt and rotate. The frame includes a compass in the center of the bottom, suspended between the three legs.
