Hand-Knotted Persian Baluch Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Baluch accent rug. This wool and goat-hair rug begins with two large, fused lozenges, each grounded in indigo, enclosing a geometric centerpiece outlined in tangerine, rose and ivory, with stylized palmettes and florals. The lozenges rest on a scarlet field populated with six small stepped diamond motifs. Framing the field is a border featuring double ram’s head motifs and rosettes. The palette is scarlet, indigo, tangerine, mocha and ivory. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with camel-hair warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
