19th Century British Sterling Silver Spoons with Coin Silver Spoon

A collection of six 19th century sterling silver spoons by British silversmiths. This includes a fiddle handled spoon from 1846 by a London maker Chawner & Co., a fiddle handled spoon from 1846 by Exeter maker Robert Williams & Sons, a spoon with an Old English handle from 1823 by a London maker with a mark of ‘WE’, a fiddle handled spoon from 1839 by London maker William Theobalds & Robert Metcalfe Atkinson, a fiddle handled spoon from 1836 by Exeter maker William Rawlings Sobe, and a fiddled handled spoon from 1824 by Edinburgh maker William Constable. Also featured is a coin silver spoon with fiddle handle by Bigelow, Bros. & Kennard of Boston, MA (active 1847-1867). All are stamped for silver fineness along with other hallmarks and maker’s marks, and some handles have personalized engravings. The total approximate weight of the six sterling spoons is 3.265 ozt., and the approximate weight of the coin silver spoon is 0.535 ozt.
