An oil landscape painting on canvas by listed American artist Ruthven Byrum (1896 – 1958). This painting depict s vibrant idealized rural landscape featuring rolling hills, a scenic road, and a colorful sunset through the clouds. This piece is signed ‘Byrum’ to the lower left corner of the picture plane. It is presented unframed. While born in Grand Junction, Michigan, Byrum spent most of his life in Anderson, Indiana. Byrum studied art and Indiana University under T.C. Steele and Robert E. Burke and he later went on to study at the Art Institute of Chicago. Byrum later studied in Paris and Munich under Andre L’Hote and Hans Hofman.
