An oil painting on canvas titled Cannelton, Ind From Hawesville, Ky by artist John Butler. This painting features swift, well-blended brushwork and is rendered primarily in a palette of muted brown, blue, gray and white tones. Depicted is a view of the Ohio River and a small town shrouded by trees and rolling hills. It is signed by hand to the lower right corner and dated ‘1980’ to the verso. The painting is housed in a wooden frame with a metal hanging wire to the verso. To the verso is a graphite notation specifying the title, artist, medium, and date.
