James Deakin & Sons Sheffield, England Silver Plate Stag Inkwell Set

Item Details

A vintage silver plate inkwell set by James Deakin & Sons of Sheffield, England (active 1886 – c.1940). This set includes a stand featuring an ivy band around the edges and bracket style feet, as well as pen holder at the top and a stag figurine in the center, atop a four shell-footed oval pedestal with a beaded band and floral designs. The stand comes with two glass inkwells with silver-plated hinged lids, engraved with foliage and topped with spire style finials. The underside is stamped, ‘James Deakin & Sons Sheffield’ along with ‘P 1733’.

Condition

- surface wear throughout including scratches and tarnish; stag antlers are damaged; numbers scratched on underside.
