Brass Candelabrum with a Group of Brass-Tone Plates and Vases
Item Details
A brass candelabrum with a group of brass-tone plates and vases. Included is a selection of pierced rim and chased metal plates with ornate designs to the plates, these are not marked to the bottom. One of these plates features a white enameled rim with floral designs and an enameled center with an Asian-inspired scene of a woman with a parasol. Another brass-tone plate features a circular chased floral design with a pierced rim, another vintage metal plate features scenes of New York City to each of its four paneled rim areas separated by florals. Scenes featured include World Trade Center, Empire State Bldg., United Nations Bldg, and Rockefeller Center. The center of the plate features the Statue of Liberty. Parts of the raised design are highlighted with applied colors in reds, green and blue. This plate has a mounting hook on the reverse and is faintly stamped ‘Japan’. Included is a brass-tone candelabrum with a wide foot and turned center column accented with a round ball to the center with chased reeded accents going around the ball. The four arms to the candelabrum are scrolled ending in drip pans and sconces. A single sconce rises above the arms atop a graduated column. This candelabrum is capable of holding five tapers. It does not appear to be marked to the base. Included is a brass vase with a silver-tone exterior accented with a brass tone flower, lip and foot. The base is marked ‘India’. Another included vase features a brass chased floral exterior against a darker textured ground. This vase does not appear to be marked. An included metal vase features a black ground, with silver-tone chased flowers, and a silver-tone lip to the interior of the vase. It is marked to the base ‘India’.
