With an Appendix Containing the Performances of Dexter and a Portrait by Scott by Joseph Cairn Simpson published by Geo. E. Woodward. It is green cloth on board bound with gilt embossed design and lettering to the spine. The piece is inscribed by Robert W. Conn of Valley Station, Kentucky, a prominent trotting horse breeder of the 19th century in Kentucky.
